How to Draw a Black Female Face & Torso

Here is another example of a female and this time I have added part of her upper body (torso) which I know, I need to finish. Its just that it took me an hour to do just the face and I got tired. There’s another sign of my humanity – the need for sleep! I was trying to do it really quickly, not focusing too much on detail. I have been working in grayscale (black & white) for the past few drawings because its easier to explain step by step what I am doing in the process of rendering or toning. Its far easier to do this in black and white than it is in … Read entire article »

In trying to keep to my resolution of drawing a picture every day I just managed to churn this one out. I had to work fast as I only had an hour to do it. Anyway I hope you like! Something that I hope to teach you in this lesson is to trust your eyes and brush down exactly what you see and not what you think you see or what you think the object should look like, in this case the face.
